Entering the rain forest as the farm disappears is an immediate change of world. Different sounds spring out, the smell changes and your eyes expand with the wonders. As the hike through the paths/foliage continues you will meet up with your gorilla trackers. They communicate with the Rwanda gorilla trekkers on where they presume and/or know the families are located. At this point, you are excited the gloves, pants and boots are protecting you from some pointy bushes and vines. Keep your eyes about you! Every step counts and investing in a good pair of boots matters. Your guides will stop and communicate specific signals the gorillas will communicate with. Be prepared to use your ears and mouth if you happen to communicate with our friends in the Virunga mountains.
