The Importance of Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies

The Top 100 Mid-Sized Companies Survey was a KPMG initiative in collaboration with the Nation Media Group through local publication Rwanda Today. The 2013 survey was sponsored by the Rwanda Development Board (RBD), and has since expanded to include companies from across East Africa.

The latest results from the Rwanda Top 100 are published here. In terms of areas of activity, the list showcases businesses from across the board. Since Rwanda, the project was passed on to Tanzania, Uganda, and finally Kenya, as this timeline shows. The latest survey was carried out in Kenya in partnership with Business Daily.

KPMG Audit Partner Jacob Gathecha recently highlighted the need for the top 100 for future investment, stressing the importance of tax compliance, inclusiveness and sustainability.
