DAY 1: PICK UP EX KIGALI AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK (UGANDA)
You’ll be warmly welcomed by your Amahoro Tours driver/guide to start your 10 day Uganda Tour and begin a scenic road journey toward southwestern Uganda, crossing via the Cyanika Border as rolling hills, rural villages, and changing landscapes build excitement on the way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park; you’ll arrive at your lodge in time for lunch, settle into the forest surroundings, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon at leisure, perfectly paced to recharge before the gorilla trekking experience ahead.

DAY 2: GORILLA TRACKING TREKS IN BWINDI NATIONAL PARK UGANDA
After an early breakfast, the moment you’ve been waiting for arrives as you prepare to enter for your gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for a powerful encounter with mountain gorillas. This ancient rainforest is extraordinary—home to both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, a distinction no other forest in Africa can claim—along with an impressive range of wildlife including multiple primate species, mammals, birds, and butterflies. Gorilla tracking here is raw and unpredictable; the trek may last a few hours or most of the day, demanding determination as you move through steep, muddy terrain and shifting weather, but every challenge disappears the instant you come face-to-face with these gentle giants. Following a detailed ranger briefing on respectful interaction, the experience becomes deeply personal and emotional, a rare privilege that few ever know, before returning to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, still energized by a day that leaves a lasting mark.

DAY 3: DEPART FOR THE GREAT QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you’ll set off on a scenic drive toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, pausing at the Equator for a memorable stop before continuing through changing landscapes that gradually open into savannah and crater-lined plains. Arriving after approximately five hours, time permitting, you’ll head out for an afternoon game drive in one of Uganda’s most wildlife-rich parks, known especially for its lions, where you may encounter elephants, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, and—if fortune favors you—a leopard, before continuing to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4: DIVE INTO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
The day begins with an early breakfast and a morning game drive, when wildlife activity is at its peak, before returning to camp for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, you’ll experience one of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s most exhilarating highlights with a boat safari along the iconic Kazinga Channel, where dense concentrations of hippos dominate the water, crocodiles line the banks, elephants and buffalo gather at the shoreline, and an extraordinary variety of birdlife fills the air, creating a vivid, close-range wildlife encounter that feels raw and alive, with every turn of the channel revealing new movement and sound. As the day winds down, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, carrying the energy of an afternoon that delivers Africa at its most intense.

DAY 5: DEPART FOR THE KIBALE NATIONAL PARK + BIGODI WALK JOURNEY
Following an early morning breakfast, you’ll travel toward Kibale National Park, arriving in time for an immersive afternoon walk through the renowned Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community-led conservation area protects the rich Magombe Swamp and offers exceptional birdlife, with nearly 200 recorded species, including striking forest specialties such as the papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler, and the unmistakable great blue turaco, often considered the star sighting of the walk. Beyond birds, the wetland is alive with color and movement, from swirling butterflies to several primate species, including the grey-cheeked mangabey, all thriving within this compact yet vibrant ecosystem. The guided walk, lasting approximately two to three hours, is led by knowledgeable local guides whose storytelling and insight bring the landscape to life, making the experience both engaging and deeply rewarding. Lunch is enjoyed along the way or as a packed meal, before continuing on to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, ending the day surrounded by the quiet rhythms of the forest.

DAY 6: CHIMP TREKKING AND NATURE WALK
Start your day with an early breakfast at 6:30 am before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing from your experienced ranger, who will provide essential information on tracking techniques, chimpanzee behavior, and safety guidelines. By 8:30 am, you’ll transfer to the trailhead and begin your trek through the lush forest for your Kibale National Park chimpanzee trek, navigating winding paths and dense undergrowth as you anticipate the first sighting of the playful and curious chimps in their natural habitat—a truly magical experience. After returning to the lodge for a hot lunch, the adventure continues with an evening nature walk through the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, where you can spot monkeys, the vibrant great blue turaco, and other fascinating wildlife while guided by knowledgeable local trackers. As the day winds down, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on a day full of extraordinary wildlife encounters.

DAY 7: DEPART FOR MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, set off for your Murchison Falls National Park Safari, Uganda’s largest protected area, sprawling across an impressive 3,840 km². The mighty River Nile dramatically divides the park into northern and southern sectors before plunging over the western rift valley escarpment, where it is squeezed through a narrow 6-meter gorge, crashing into a roaring pool 40 meters below—an awe-inspiring natural spectacle. A boat cruise along the Nile toward the base of the falls offers an incredible opportunity to witness this power up close while spotting wildlife along the riverbanks. From elephants and giraffes to buffalo, lions, hippos, crocodiles, and a dazzling array of bird species, every moment on the water brings the park’s rich biodiversity to life. After the cruise, return to your lodge for lunch and enjoy a relaxing afternoon at leisure before dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds and beauty of the African wilderness.

DAY 8: MURCHISON FALL NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast the day will be spent viewing game around the park and along the Nile. Later in the afternoon take a boat trip downstream to the delta, where the Nile enters Lake Albert. This 5 to 6-hour trip will reveal the beauty of Murchison Falls National Park, and especially the colorful delta birds. This is a great opportunity to see the elusive Shoebill Stork! In the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and rest. We’ll go on a game drive from 8.00am to 12.00noon, seeing several animals along the way, including lions and giraffes. Go on the impressive ‘launch trip’ on the Nile, up to the Falls, giving you a chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and many varieties of colorful birds!

DAY 9: ENTEBBE VIA ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY
After an early breakfast depart for Entebbe with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for some rhino trekking in Uganda. We will have lunch here before continuing to Entebbe arriving for the afternoon at leisure then later dinner and overnight.
